Northampton Hope Centre;
Giving a Hand up, not a hand out…
- Imagine falling asleep every night, in a doorway; in a tent or on the floor and having to brave the elements every hour of every day…
- Imagine waking up in the morning and not knowing where your next meal was coming from…
- Imagine not being able to afford clean clothes, not able to shower, not able to make a cup of tea when you want it…
- Imagine having to choose between eating or paying the rent / putting the heating on / getting your children their new school shoes…
That is the life many people in Northamptonshire are facing each and every day. Without The Hope Centre, individuals across our county would have nowhere to go, no support and no hope for the future.
Northampton Hope Centre is here to provide crisis support for those in need and also support to give individuals a better future. Whether that better future is being free from addiction, having a safe place to stay, getting help for mental health problems or gaining training to get back in to work, The Northampton Hope centre helps people each and every day to get nearer to that better future.
When Cecilia was let down on accommodation she had been promised and was refused help, she found herself on the street homeless in Northampton
Cecilia now attends the Hope centre regularly and volunteers to help the charity.
She is one of the 120 people we see every day who need our help and benefit from what the Hope centre has to offer. Hear Cecilia’s story

The Northamptonshire business community support the Northampton Hope Centre in many ways, helping us find placements for our service users wanting to return to work, using our catering services to provide buffets at their events, volunteering and fundraising.
Each year we have to raise over £650,000 to keep our work going. This is done entirely through charitable donations and grants. The support of the Northamptonshire community has enabled the charity to keep its doors open for 45 years and the support of the SME business awards will enable us to let people know what we do, and offer lots of great ways businesses can support the charity and help Northamptonshire’s homeless.
